My name is Yulia Ratseburzhynska.

I am a children's writer from Ukraine.

Writing for children is a great joy, but it is also a serious responsibility.

I'm sure children are the best readers. They always see in your text something special, their imagination allows them to build fantastic worlds in their minds. And the most significant responsibility of children's authors is to make these worlds full of kindness, love, and proper examples. Because fantastic worlds in our children's minds define our real world in furure.

My first book "Star courier" had been published in February 2022, only 3 weeks before Russia invaded Ukraine. During the war, many people have been writing me that their children take my book to the bomb shelters or when they leave their homes and go to other cities or countries. They say my book helps them to keep themselves optimistic and to believe that it is possible to overcome every trouble. Beautiful illustrations for the book were made by talented ukrainian artist Anastasiya Yaroshchuk.

Martyn, the main character of the Star Courier book

The main character of my book is 8-year-old Martyn. He wants to be a wizard and to make dreams come true for everyone he loves.

Martyn has a dog, named Babaka. She's very clever but extremely grumpy. Happiness for people they don't understand her language.

Martin and Babaka always bring some finds from walks. Nothing special: a blown ball, broken binoculars... But once Babaka comes across a strange place and begins to bring really incredible items: a stopwatch that slows down time, a pen that writes what a person does not dare to say.

"Is it magic?" - you may ask. No! It is the postal starship of the Intergalactic Delivery Service that had been crashed into the Earth. The pilot of this postal starship, star courier Luciano is an alien from a far planet, but he looks like an Earth's pigeon with enormous eyes.

Martin's family undertakes a very difficult task: to help the alien return home. But people do not even suspect that they will face another challenge - saving the whole universe. Only a miracle can help them to overcome world trouble. Miracle, or erudition and unity.
